Cornell to Host Ivy League Basketball Tournaments
ITHACA, N.Y. — Cornell University will host the Ivy League men’s and women’s basketball tournaments March 13-15 at Newman Arena, the first time Cornell has served as host and the culmination of more than a year of campus preparation.
The top four teams in the men’s and women’s divisions will battle March 13-15 in Newman Arena for the conference’s automatic bids to the “Big Dance.”
Men’s tournament
On the men’s side, the Big Red earned the fourth seed and will take on top-seeded Yale on March 14 at 11 a.m. Cornell beat the Bulldogs, 72-69, on Feb. 27 on a last-second 3-pointer by senior Jake Fiegen ’26. The other semifinal features second-seeded Harvard against third-seeded Penn. The winners will play for the title March 15 at noon.
Women’s tournament
For the women, Brown, Columbia, Harvard and Princeton have all qualified but seedings have yet to be determined going into the final weekend of the regular season.

Hoffman runner-up at New York state wrestling championships
Lucas Hoffman of the Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour Storm Wrestling team finished as the state runner-up in the 118-pound weight class at the New York state championships, recording two pins and a technical fall on his way to the final before a 9-8 loss to the top seed; ESPN named him Athlete of the Week, and the Watkins Glen Central School District congratulated him.

Section IV Class AAA Basketball Finals Set for Friday
Friday’s Section IV Class AAA boys and girls basketball championships will be held at the Watkins Glen Field House, with Elmira vs. Corning-Painted Post in the girls game at 6 p.m.; Corning-Painted Post vs. Ithaca in the boys game at 7:45 p.m., gates open at 5 p.m., tickets sold only online through GoFan for $6.25 with children under 10 free, concessions available, and NFHS Live Stream and HUDL free streams offered.
