Cornell’s Fu Set for World University Games

Cornell University table tennis player Gina Fu ’28, a statistics and economics major at the College of Arts and Sciences, is preparing to compete in the 2025 International University Sports Federation Summer World University Games. The event will be held in Germany, with the table tennis competition set to kick off on July 17. Fu will compete in women’s singles, women’s doubles, and women’s teams events.

The Summer World University Games bring together student-athletes from around the world and are recognized by the International Olympic Committee. This edition of the games will feature competitions in 18 sports, ranging from 3x3 basketball, including 3x3 wheelchair basketball, to archery and water polo.

Fu balanced her training and financial modeling work for her summer internship as she prepared for the opening ceremonies of the games. Further details about the event and Fu’s participation can be found on the Cornell University website.
