Cornell University Hosts Historic Concert Legends
Cornell University in Ithaca has a long history of hosting memorable musical events on campus. On February 3, 1974, Joni Mitchell performed with Tom Scott and the LA Express at Barton Hall at 8 p.m. The Connell Concert Commission presented the first annual Cornell Jazz Festival at Bailey Hall on a Saturday night at 8 p.m. Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock held two shows at Cornell University, beginning at 6 p.m. and extending to an 8 p.m. performance.
Other events have included performances by Crosby & Nash, a concert by Boston, and shows by the Grateful Dead. Steve Wonder performed at Barton Hall on March 20 and 21. Wyclef Jean appeared with special guest A Tribe Called Quest, and Bruce Springsteen was also featured. Judy Collins performed at Barton Hall on May 17, 1975. Additional artists who have taken the stage at Cornell include Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Joe Jackson, and Jackson Browne.
