Cornell ROTC Leader Earns Top Navy Award

Kylie Williamson ’26 from Cornell University has been named Navy/Marines Student of the Year by Navy Federal Credit Union. This honor, a top award in the Reserve Officers Training Corps system, marks the first time a Cornell student has received the award.

Williamson, a physics major in the College of Arts and Sciences, serves as the battalion commander of Cornell’s Naval ROTC unit, which includes 48 students. She was selected for the national award from nominees at 202 universities based on her leadership, military excellence, scholarship, and service.

Williamson first discovered ROTC as a freshman, seeking a supportive and competitive community similar to her experiences in high school cross country, track, and swimming.
