Cornell Unveils Smart Glasses with Live Subtitles

Cornell University reported on a new pair of smart glasses that generate instant, accurate text visible only to the wearer. Designed to help people who are deaf or hard of hearing understand spoken communication, the glasses function similarly to having subtitles for live conversation. The smart accessory was developed by Nirbhay Narang ’25, a current student, who serves as the co-founder and lead engineer of the company behind the device. More details about the invention are available on Cornell’s official publication.
