Flash Flood Warning in Northeastern PA

The National Weather Service in Binghamton, New York, has issued a Flash Flood Warning for southeastern Lackawanna County, east central Luzerne County, and southwestern Wayne County in northeastern Pennsylvania. The warning is in effect until 8:00 PM EDT on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

At 4:59 PM EDT, Doppler radar showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have already fallen. The heavy rainfall has led to the potential for flash flooding in small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses, poor drainage zones, and low-lying areas. Flash flooding is either occurring or is expected to begin soon.

Locations expected to experience these conditions include Bear Creek, Lehigh, Bear Creek Village, Stoddartsville, Gouldsboro, Mountain Top, Laurel Run, Penn Lake Park, Forest Park, Fells Corners, Daleville, Tunnel, Glen Summit, Mountain Mills, and La Anna.

Citizens are advised to avoid driving on flooded roads and to report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement.
